Charles Darwin's theory of evolution states that organic life sprung from non-organic matter exclusively through a natural, mechanistic process on pre-living earth. That original life form involved through mutations and natural selection over a period. The definition of evolution is a process that results in heritable changes in a population spread over many generations. Now, of course, there are ways that evolution could not have occurred. Such as, natural selection (the supposed evolution mechanism, along with mutations) is incapable of advancing an organism to a "higher order." Now there are times that some changes that can cause many great variations between different species, and when that happens, interbreeding cannot occur. So then wh en this happens, a new species is created.
